FAQs

o Is Angelcare, Corp. bonded?
Yes, all of our employees are bonded.

o How does payment for services work?
A detailed monthly billing statement is sent which sets forth everything that was done that month. This will also include details of how the client is doing and any concerns that need to be addressed. This bill is to be paid within 15 days of receipt. Angelcare is private pay, therefore, health insurance does not cover their services.

o Is Angelcare a home health care agency?
No, we are not caregivers and do not provide home health care. The services provided are the business part of someone's life, taking care of paperwork, paying bills, sorting personal property, etc.

o Do you contract work out?
Yes, I use several different people whom I trust and oversee, for their services. For example, if someone needs their house cleaned or groceries pick up, I use someone that is more appropriately priced to perform these tasks. If medical needs are an issue I use a registered nurse to either case manage or as medical power of attorney. I use a Caldwell Banker Realtor to market and sell my client's homes. I then use Axa Equitable, financial advisors, to invest my clients money wisely. I have an estate sale company that takes care of personal property after I have inventoried the property and removed all of the important papers, valuables, keepsakes, and any other personal items requested by the client. We maintain client confidentiality at all times.

o What is the difference between a Power of     Attorney agent, a Guardian, and a Conservator?

A Power of Attorney agent works under a General Durable Power of Attorney document that is signed by the Client, knowing they need help and knowing they don't have the ability to do everything themselves, and are mentally able to make the decision to sign a Power of Attorney document giving power to an agent to do these things for them. A Power of Attorney can be revoked at any time by signing a simple Revocation document. The Client continues to have power to anything they wish, make financial decisions, and have full access to their bank accounts.

A Conservator is appointed by the Court to handle the finances of someone that no longer has the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. This can only be changed by the Court for good reasons.

A Guardian is appointed by the Court to make health care decisions when a person is no longer able to make decisions, or wise and safe decisions, on their own. Angelcare does not provide this service.

o Where do you get most of your referrals?
Referrals come from: 1. Jefferson County Adult Protection, 2. Facilities that currently or previously housed a client of mine and they know the work I do, 3. Previous clients or their families. I rely solely on word of mouth and I always appreciate referrals, as I do not advertise my business.
